Racine Design opened in 1996 in Jacksonville, Fl., by Don and Carol Racine. Don had a background in carpentry and remodeling. He was able to use those skills and knowledge when Carol started her upholstery shop in 1983. Repairing and rebuilding furniture as well as building new frames. Carol would redesign or restore furniture and antiques back to the original design. They started working on boats in 1990 and decided that was the direction they wanted to continue in. Don, having been a lifelong boater, had first hand experience with the joys and the disappointments of a day on the water.
After moving to Florida, they started their company, Racine Design. Shortly after moving to their current location, Sam Mays came on board. His list of skills included electrical troubleshooting and repair. Sam is an avid boater in both power and sail. Leslie Pendarvis joined the crew in 2009. She keeps the office organized and running smooth. She has been in the marine industry for 17 years. The newest addition to the Racine Design crew is Wayne Waugh. Wayne has upholstery experience as well as a good understanding of boat renovation. He is experienced in both power and sail. We have evolved from that little upholstery shop in the 80's to a full marine renovation shop.
We often are able to find those hard to get parts for older boats. We can also engineer solutions that are out of the realm of OEM or standard problems, We focus on down the road thinking to assure that your boating experience will be trouble free for years to come. Our goal is to make your boat fit you and your needs. No two people want exactly the same things out of their boat. We work with you to design your dreams. We only use top quality material, with qualified technicians doing the jobs. Although we have branched out in other areas, boats are still our passion. We hope you take a look through our photos to see some of our past jobs.
Thank you for visiting Racine Design.
